Toolbar for SDN geeks

This weekend, there was an interview on the ScobleShow with Reena Jadhav, the chief marketing officer at Conduit. Conduit is a free service that allows you to create customized browser toolbars for a website or online community. It sparked my interest and after tinkering around for an hour or so, I created a toolbar for my favorite online community, SDN. =) In the end, I found it useful and fun to play with, so I thought others may like it as well.

This is just something I threw together on a rainy Saturday afternoon, so feel free to download it and submit comments & ideas for improvement. Without further ado, I present to you the browser toolbar for fellow SDN geeks.

  • Hey Ed,

once again amazing stuff that you produce in your Sunday evenings. It’s functional, looks cool and it’s a great way to get people into SDN that are new here. Everything you need in one place. Nice one!!

  • There were 45 downloads of the SDN geek toolbar yesterday! If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to let me know.

The only problem that I have had is with the activeX plugin for the audio player hanging up sometimes. I remove it when I am not using it and everything works smooth. You can customize this option by unchecking the radio player from SDN geeks–>toolbar options–>predefined components–>radio player.

I can remove it permanently if it gives others problems, but some people have told me that they liked it.

    Cheers,

    • Hi Ed:

I’m already using your Toolbar -;) And also made a post on my personal blog…Hope some of the new downloads come from my visitors -:D

      Greetings,

      Blag.

  • The blog button in the toolbar is very useful. My suggestion is to add the following options in the button –
    * My Blogs – should take me to the list of my blogs (for example, for me it should take me to /people/santosh.v/blog)
    * Post a blog – this option should take me to the page to post a new blog.

    The toolbar is really cool!!!

    Santo.
