In addition to my basic Rich Product-Content Management with SAP NetWeaver MDM with SAP NetWeaver MDM, which is about the multi-channel publishing of consolidated product information, I’d like to announce the availability a new set of eLearning materials specifically covering the area of print publishing with SAP NetWeaver MDM.

The series comprises three individual SAP Tutorials.

The first explains the Family table in the MDM Console, shows how the family tree is initially partitioned, and how individual families (nodes) can be further partitioned using the MDM Data Manager (see also the documentation on Family Hierarchies).

The second deals with the Family Hierarchy in the MDM Publisher, which is where you do the basic layout settings for individual families.

And the third tutorial shows the Publication Hierarchy in the MDM Publisher, which is where you do specific layout settings, and page-level optimizations for a specific publication.

Note:
The recordings were made on the basis of SAP NetWeaver MDM 5.5 SP4 (Patch 1).
For navigating through the tutorials, just use the “Enter” button.

You can choose the tutorials from the MDM eLearning catalog on SDN.

Run them in the follwing sequence:

  • 1. Using Family Tables in the MDM Console and MDM Data Manager
  • 2. Using the Family Hierarchy in the MDM Publisher
  • 3. Using Publication Hierarchy in the MDM Publisher

Enjoy the recordings,

Markus Ganser

Tutorial navigation via the “Enter” key has been set for simplicity reasons (although the real application may require for example, simple mouse click, double-click, or right-click.
Where textual or numerical input is required, you can certainly enter the foreseen text or number.
The aim of the tutorial is to show the overall process flow, and not the details of navigation from step to step.

      Best regards,

      Markus
