OK so Santa doesn’t use ECC 6.0 just yet, but I understand from sources in the SAP sales team that he is seen as a key account for 2007. At this festive time of year I thought it might be interesting to understand how he could use it together with some of the Enterprise Services Packages. Customer Fact Sheet By implementing the Customer Fact Sheet Santa and the Elves are able to automatically pull together a single view (using Visual Composer) of a child that shows : • The child’s name and address (harmonised and cleansed using MDM) • A link to Google maps to show accurate location • The child’s Xmas list (stored as a customer enquiry and created via an adobe interactive form) • A WebService link towww.Have_I_Been_Good_This_Year.com which provides a kind of credit check for kids behaviour • A WebService link to the child’s parent to do a credit check to ensure that the items on the list can be paid for (this relationship is retrieved via MDM) This single screen which is part of a CAF Guided Procedure allows the Elves to either approve the child’s request, escalate to Santa for approval if the scoring is poor or reject the request. This application has reduced the time taken to process a child’s “orders” from 10 minutes to 5 minutes, delivering a saving of about 5,000,000 Elf days, generating savings of $2.5 Billion (figures based on 500 million children). Other ES Packages To help bring savings and efficiencies to the manufacturing processes involved in Xmas Santa will be using the Integration of Manufacturing Execution Systems, Manufacturing Work Instructions and Integration of Quality Management Systems ES Packages. To ensure a full audit trail is maintained any Xmas lists and letters to Santa will be stored in the mySAP PLM DMS using the Document Management Connectivity ES Package. Finally parents will be able to logon to the Santa system via the web, review their charges and authorize payment using the Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment Enterprise Services Package. Conclusions So as you can see Santa could make great use of the Enterprise Services Packages to help bring savings and innovation to his business………so which Enterprise Services Packages are you going to put on your Xmas list ?
