How many of you have already modelled an XI BPM in ARIS (a tool designed for modeling business processes) ?
If you are one of those who haven’t maybe it’s high time to try it out.
Why ?
You need to wait for the next XI release to find out ๐Ÿ™‚

IDS Scheer gives up the a web enable demo of ARIS for SAP Netweaver
that you can use to try the it’s new possibilities regarding XI BPMs.

With the use of this link: ARIS demo registration you can register for a free evaluation account.
Once you register you will receive and link and demo account via mail and you can start exploring it.

The very first thing that will strike you is a new model type called: SAP Integration Process (XI)

You’re guess is correct – you can use it to model your Repository Integration processes !

On the left tab you can add all knows XI BPM steps
(their graphical representation is almost the same as we know from Integration Repository):

For every process step you can also include XI attributes (like messages, acknowledgments, interface mappings etc.)
just as we do in the properties editor in XI.

If Aris tool is supposed to be integrated into Integration Repository then
it may be a good time to start exploring it and hopefully this weblog provides info for an early start
(as Aris is not a part of the Integration Repository yet – XI 3.0, 7.0)

We did try a course in Aris a while back, at that time Aris was only able to export a BPEL file. XI on the other hand missed a way to import all the different steps in process. Is the import improved in the current releases of both tools.

      Hi Daniel,

the idea is not to import/export anything
between XI and ARIS for netweaver I believe
you will model the BPM inside the
integration repository with the help of aris “tab”.

        Hey Michal,

Do you really think so… Bcoz when we attended the training it was told that we can model our process in ARIS and then the same can be imported into XI as a BPEL… As daniel told there was namespace issues at that time….

have a look at a link on my blog:
An alternative way of modeling BPMs in Aris

did you sue this? if so you can export/import

I show a latest way I believe in my weblog
          (new model type)

but since I only saw this on presetaion
I cannot tell for sure where will this
be included in integration repository ๐Ÿ™‚

we are facing some challenges when it comes to implement the solution manager landscape and its integration with Aris. Do we need to maintain a “three system landscape” for Aris? can you comment on this?. thanks
