Just finishing up the last day with Mark doing the small Partner tour. it's been a very interesting 3 days both inside the walls of SAP as well as outside and this 3rd day went just as well as the first two leaving smiles on both our faces. Now before I get into this day I wanted to send a special thank you out to Mark (the other one), for his Craig the Great at 20K+, I'm on vacation right now when I came online to get this blog out to everyone I saw that one and have to say I was a bit choked up with all the comments from everyone. Since coming on board SDN my time in the forums actually answering questions and all that has steadily decreased and I was kind of bummed about it. Sometimes it's easy to forget that there are many ways to contribute to the community and all of them count. So thank you again Mark, no worries I don't think I'd take a job as the "Price is Right" 😉 OK back to business, the third day of course started off like the first with the familiar Bangalore traffic. We visited 2 locations this time around: Both were actually located near the SAP offices so it was not so bad to get to them.
We were hosted by Sankar Prasad Ghosh who was very gracious and first invited us in to a short little sit down chat and refreshment before leading us to speak with the whole group. He gave us a good idea of what they do and are working on and generally gave us a good running start into the meeting. The group was full of questions with lots of SDNers there and several came up at the end to continue chatting with us.
Our final stop of the day was Cognizant, did you know their new building as the garden on the roof? I found out of course it was because I needed to go up to the top floor to get to something I needed 😉 very cool though! As we were getting ready to start we jumped into the "Craig and Mark" comedy routine it was a big hit I don't think "Comedy Central" will be calling anytime soon but I think it took the edge off a bit and the we ended up with a ton of questions and good interactions while we were there. A special thanks out to Arvind Nagpal for inviting us and setting things all up. Now by this point I have heard the presentation around 9 times I think and each was varied slightly depending on the different aspects the crowd reacted too. Mark did a tremendous job considering he had enough material for even longer sessions but instead of cramming everything down everyone's throat each time he tailored it to meet the needs of what the crowd was most interested. I think it was a perfect comparison to how SDN/BPX works and how each person here can find what they need and how they need it quite easily. It was a pleasure being there with Mark and getting this chance to meet and talk with all these different groups! Thanks to everyone who attended this little tour and especially to all of you with your great questions and to those who helped organize and set it all up.
