Does the topic ring a bell? It does not I guess. The 5 days are the days I enjoyed (when I was on a “high”) in Bangalore (or should I say “Benguluru”) last week. The first was the SDN day + 3 SAP Teched days + 1 Certification day. So that explains it. Day 1 SDN day: This was the day I was looking most forward to and it did not disappoint. I was waiting to most of the people whom I have only known through SDN. The day did not start on a right note for me. My cab got stuck in mud and I was caught in the “Bangalore traffic”. I was late and just made it in the nick of time when Mark was looking for SDNers above 11K points and there I was along with Vijay Babu. After the presentation by Mark Yolton, over a coffee break I had a chance to meet Craig whom I had troubled (I was thinking I am the only one who troubled him often but I found lot of company later) a few times. I met the other people who make SDN what it is – Mark Yolton, Marco (The dutch man) and Marilyn. The other prominent people whom I met were Raja, What is SAP Analytics, Sankar Kumar, Ravi, Sapna, AVR, etc. The Speed Networking was excellent and Craig had to pull us out of the chairs at the lunch time. The lunch was good and the sessions after the lunch were interesting. The last item on the agenda was the Panel which I thought was fabulous and thought provoking. The only grouse about the whole day was that the attendance could have been better. I pity the people who missed out a great and fun-filled day. Day 2 SAP teched: I had never attended a SAP teched, so this was another event I was looking forward to. The first agenda in the introductory note by Claus was to announce all the top contributors in SDN which I was thought was cool. The top contributors’ names along with their photographs were flashed throughout the 3 day event and I was thrilled to get recognized. This was the biggest tech-ed I guess as the number of attendees was around 3,800!! which speaks volumes about SAP does for its community. Before the Demo Jam in the evening all the top contributors was presented a USB drive which was cool. The Demo Jam was well received and right so considering the applications that were show-cased by the contestants. The show was well compeered by Craig for whom I guess it must be a walk in the park. Day 3&4 SAP teched: This was all about attending various technical and hands on sessions which were well received. I met lots of people from various technologies and Organizations and the time just flew up and I was approaching another big day – my certification exam day. Day 5 SAP teched: It was quite tense start to the day as I was predictably nervous. But my certification exam went really well and I cleared my certification with 86%. The certification was really the icing on the cake. I thank SAP and all the moderators of SDN for making the last week so eventful and joyful for me. I have quite a list of people whom I had met through-out the event and I have added them in my personal address book.
