Integrating Universal Worklist in SAP Master Data Management

Do you develop portal content for your SAP NW MDM customer and the users want to see their daily tasks on Portal with MDM Workflow cross-repository Tasks in the same Inbox ?

Did you try to configure Universal Worklist (UWL) for MDM and you were looking for implementation details ?

Are the MDM users interested in Collaboration on Portal ?

If you say YES, then:

  • scenario samples with UWL for SAP MDM,
  • how to configure UWL for SAP MDM,
  • how to configure UWL for custom MDM development (new portal content and repository),
  • code samples of MDM Workflow Java API related to UWL

    are available in this article.

      Hello Sir,

I am not able to retrieve the data onto the Universal Worklist. Have posted a couple of threads on the forums regarding the same.

      /thread/313385 [original link is broken]

More on the version info (on our system landscape).
      /thread/311191 [original link is broken]

Would be obliged if you could help me a bit on this.

      Thanks,
      Sachin.

Based on the feedback I got from colleagues and customers through other info channels, there is already an operational solution to allow in UWL much more functionality (what you can do with Data Manager: like Approve, Send to Next Step etc.), but certainly it not part of the current standard SAP MDM 5.5 SP04 patch1 shipment. Probably it will be planned in other release - it is too early to say or to do anything in this phase.

maybe you could use the SAP Guided Procedures for that purpose. One of your colleagues, Lars Ruter from the Netweaver RIG in Australia put together a very nice process like that (MDM, GP, UWL...) see https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/763845b3-0b01-0010-a1a6-c1763df8f049

      Hi Andre,

there is a difference between the two solutions you mentioned:

-yes, I have seen the solution from Lars, it is great, I like it, and it is related to NW04s with SAP Guided Procedures (GP).

-the SAP business packages shipped for MDM 5.5 SP04 patch1 containing the UWL MDM solution mentioned in the above blog must (!) run on NW04 (as mentioned in the article on the first page), and NW04 does not have GP. This is a SAP product/solution for MDM Workflow (WF) on Portal without GP.

I would expect a SAP MDM WF product/solution on Portal NW04s too, with GP.

You can offer the current SAP standard UWL MDM 5.5 SP04 patch1 Workflow solution on Portal to your customers on both NW04 and NW04s platforms.

      Thank you.
      Regards.
      Laszlo.
