This year SAP TechEd has added a really cool new item to the list, any time you attend a large conference there is always that problem that you just don’t know anyone. Actually this is not true and by the end of the conference you’ve probably found 5 people you know already and just didn’t realize they were there. This year SAP TechEd has really gone above and beyond and added a new feature. This feature is called “SAP TechEd Connect“, and the one for Las Vegas is live right now so you if you are going to Vegas I suggest you jump in there and see who all is going.

As an SAP TechEd attendee, you can connect with others in advance of getting to Las Vegas. Through the innovative, fun, and effective SAP TechEd Connect solution, you can quickly:

  • Identify other attendees with whom you would like to meet
  • Share information about yourself and your background
  • Schedule meetings that will take place during the conference.

The easy-to-use matching, searching, and visualization tools enable you to quickly identify other attendees with whom you would like to exchange knowledge, develop a business partnership, or share best practices. Get In, Get Connected.

That’s the basic description, and I was given access a few days before it went live so I could give some feedback. My first feedback of course was to get “Scripting Languages” added as a category 😉 my second feedback was “this is very interesting” and now I’ve started to go in at least once a day to check on things. You have the ability to create or join groups, start discussions, upload files and of course search for people that match certain attributes you see (Scripting Languages is already up to 10 now). I think as time gets closer to the event I’ll be in there more often to see if anyone wants to have a meeting with me (yell at me whatever) and to see how the discussions are going of course, and if any new meetings have been posted. image So hurry up and sign in and join a group, be great to see what we can forumlate and get going before we even arrive in Vegas!
