Not sure everyone is aware of this or not but FRIDAY is the deadline! For those of you unfamiliar with Demo Jam well it’s not only where we show of the greatest SDN and BPX contributors but it’s also a chance for various groups, companies and organizations to show their stuff! Do you have what it takes? The last couple of years the Demo Jam has become a concrete part of TechEd and this year will be no different! However, for those of you who are wanting to submit your cool applications then you need to hurry as the submission deadline is August 5th 2006, 5:00 p.m. PDT so you need to have your recorded demo in place. Now the new “mystery blogger” on SDN gave some tips about it but I’m not sure if anyone really took them seriously, oh and man did I get in trouble from Mark for allowing the application to go through – ouch! Since they had already posted though Mark couldn’t just remove them so for now they are here to stay and I would seriously suggest you check out what they Insider tips on the Demo Jam. A selection committee picks the top submissions, and invites the minds behind them to come to Las Vegas, Amsterdam, or Bangalore to compete for the ultimate glory: adulation and high fives from top SAP executives, such as board member Shai Agassi, when the audience votes your demo The Best! (There are cool prizes too.) Insider Tips:
- Demos should be hip, short, and “sexy.”
- Enterprise mash-ups tend to be the best demos.
- “If you can make business applications and technology really cool, we’ll probably let you in.” – Anonymous Selection Committee Member
So I’m making a special call out to all of you in SDN land and you new folks over in BPX land, and of course my favorite special folks in the Scripting Community – get your demos in their and show them the COOL stuff you are working on! UPDATED due to some unforseen technical problems, the deadline was extended and they ask that everyone who was having some problems with the upload please TRY AGAIN! The new Deadline is August 11th!
