With the growing IT requirements in today’s corporate enterprises IT facilities within companies are facing a hardware and software maintenance schedule that has been becoming more and more complex.

Different and more sophisticated technologies are often involved in applications in order to accomplish the needed business requirements. This is also true with SAP’s software. SAP’s applications are no longer a monolith based on a single major technology (ABAP) like in the R/3 time. A typical IT landscape for the new generation SAP’s software employs Java EE and other new technologies beside ABAP. The maintenance of such a system landscape is a big challenge for the IT staff to face.

In the lecture session ULM205 – Applying SAP NetWeaver Support Packages we will explore with you how to update SAP NetWeaver-based application systems. We will discuss the update methods for the different technologies involved and examine the update of Java-based systems using the Java Support Package Manager (JSPM) in great detail. A demo with Java system update is also provided in the session.

We are glad to have your participation in either Amsterdam or Las Vegas. If you have any additional request for topics or expectations to be covered beyond our current plan in the lecture you are welcome send your request to me.
