Argo Enterprise Search While the first preview version for Project Argo is available for download in the SDN Preview Area, i would like to give the SDN community a quick overview of what it is. Project Argo is a codename for a new solution in the area of Enterprise Search. Project Argo is easy to install, configure and search! It is sitting on top of NetWeaver (integrating via SAP Enterprise Search Services) and “TREX” and its capabilities can be integrated easily into other SAP applications allowing the end-user to get quick answers out of SAP via a simple desktop widget, a Web browser or even mobile devices. Project Argo will be able to associate search results with the users work context. This means that information workers not only get quick answers but can also take quick actions directly from the search results (e.g. calling transactions) With Project Argo, you can search for the following information: - Structured data (such as sales orders, master data, employees and other business objects) - Unstructured data (such as HTML files, presentations and documents) The good news is: You can start right away and fully leverage your existing SAP infrastructure if you are an existing SAP R/3 or mySAP ERP Customer! We have included some sample scenarios which are using BAPI´s in the area of personal management (qualification for employees), customers (sales orders) as well as business partners (customers, vendors or business partners). Argo is ready to connect to web services as well as we are also providing a generic web service in order to invoke services such as Google maps. Project Argo is flexible and configurable - If you are a developer type of person, you can use the beta release to add new BAPI that you would like to search on or if you already use a NetWeaver 04s with the Search Engine Service (SES) and ERP 2005, you can configure Argo to use SES to search on business objects. Please notice that the official SAP support organization will not accept calls or messages that refer to this preview version, therefore we encourage you to use SDN for feedback and community support through the discussion forums and other information sources, such as tutorials.
