A Modest Redesign of the ABAP Area

When I was looking to upgrade the ABAP page to the new look and feel of the other content areas of SDN, I gave a call for help to colleagues, Thomas Jung and Brian McKellar .  Many of you in the ABAP community are probably familiar with Brian’s work in the BSP realm.  Best in the  SDN Lifetime (mainly 2004)

By all accounts, it was Brian who encouraged Thomas Jung to be so active in SDN.  So indirectly we can all really thank Brian for giving us content in the BSP area. (take a look at the User Interface Development in ABAP, in the New ABAP homepage, the newly organized BSP contents are mostly the collected works of Brian McKellar, Thomas Jung and Craig Cmehil).

A Not So Modest Accomplishment

Just about the time I was ready to overhaul the ABAP page, Thomas mentioned that he had a little CD for me with dozens of elearning contents for Web Dynpro, ABAP, and Adobe Forms.

Last week we uploaded them and they grace the New Web Dynpro homepage, as well as the New ABAP homepage.

But even more auspicious is the fact that with these tutorials and his incredible contributions to SDN, (for example: New ABAP Editor Backport!), Thomas Jung crosses the 20K mark and is the first SDNer to do so (with top contributor Rich Heilman   close on his heels).

All in all, an important milestone for ABAP, ABAPers, and SDN.
