The following are the brief activities / tasks that are followed during the course of the development of the system – applications. The activities are a combined list, performed by various teams viz, Basis team, Business team, Development, Testing team, Usability …etc.

Activity List

1. Completion / Sign off on the Business requirements, through story boards , preparation of the system requirements and Design (HLD / LLD) documents Followed as per general guidelines of the company's quality process

2. Creation of new tracks – Identification of the software components and their dependencies based on the business requirements for the configuration Tracks for new application will be created in the JDI server with the list of SCs

3. Preparation of the landscape in JDI / Development / test / Production server configuration JDI track set up

4. Set up of JCO connections – LDAP user generation & SSO set up Unique JCOs set for individual applications and

5. Preparation of the new themes and style guides to be followed for the development of the application Theme creation and applied across the servers

6. Identification of DCs ( Design Phase) and development of the system.A cycle process till the completion of the development

7.T ransport of the Dcs based on the activities created through JDI Check – in, activation and Release of activities ( Periodically) to the consolidation during the development phase.

8. Code Review & Unit testing -; within the development environment,Till development stage

9.Transport of the Activities after consolidation to test server ( JDI transport),assembling and transport to Test server by the Project lead for testing by the business team for integration / system testing

10.Providing the required Links to the ISP – java application, wherein the integration is done by calling the URLs.The Login and other information are obtained through Http requests and URL parameter requests

11.Transport of the components (SCs) to production from test server for production After business sign off and ready for software release.

After the approval of the project manager, Either himself or the Basis team co-ordinator does the transport of the software components to the production server

12.Production Release Testing Testing done on the SCs after production move

Preparation of the new themes and style guides to be followed for the development of the application Identification of DCs (Design Phase) and development of the system Transport of the Dcs based on the activities created through JDI Code Review & Unit testing – within the development environment

Project Manager

Transport of the components (SCs) to production from test server for production , after due UAT from the client and approval sign off on the requirements

Conclusion

In conclusion, this blog intends to provide a glimpse of our day to day activities that we do on development of applications through webdynpro. Each step has on its own can be expanded and aim at provide more details.
