Simple Transformations
After a general discussion of XML as a data model and XSLT as a transformation language, Peter McNulty, of the SAP NetWeaver product Management covered the basics of the Simple Transformations tool introduced in the SAP NetWeaver '04 release. Simple Transformations allow you to produce XML documents from ABAP data, as well as extract values from XML documents into ABAP data. The presentation did not discuss the details of the communication mechanism but rather focused on XML as the format of the data content.
