Behind the lines, more people understand that with SOA and Web Service standards, IT will evolve to a model where assets are "right-sourced", i.e. consumed from wherever it is most cost effective to operate and maintain them, as I was eluding in my earlier post on What Microsoft's strategy has to do with ... neologisms?
Right sourcing will fundamentally change the economics of IT. It is more granular than outsourcing which only focuses at operating entire systems or IT organizations achieving labor and sometimes hardware cost savings.
