What is an isolation method?
Isolation method for iviews and pages determines:
· Content Retrieval
· Content Rendering
· Content Incorporation (in page or framework)
What is the use of isolation methods in portal?
Isolation methods are used for the optimization of network traffic to the portal.
The isolation methods are separate for iViews and pages.
Isolation methods for iViews and their comparisons:
Use embedded isolation method for the iViews that need to refresh themselves through the server.
Use URL isolation method for URL iViews (content external to the portal server).
Note: I have not discussed about the Pumped Isolation method as it is deprecated.
To select isolation method for iView, go to Property Editor -> Property Category Menu and select Load. Select the value of isolation method property.
