SAP Computing Center Mangangement System (CCMS) provides a proactive way of monitoring Exchange Infrastructure. CCMS can be used to monitor ABAP and Java Components of XI centrally. In a three part series i will present a step by step guide on configuring CCMS Monitoring for XI.

Part I : Configuring CCMS Monitoring for XI Part II : GRMG Customizing for XI CCMS Heartbeat Monitoring Part III: Configuring CCMS Alerts for the Adapter Engine

In this weblog lets see how to step up the initial CCMS configuration. Step 1 : Turn on CCMS Monitoring by settng CCMS in SXMB_ADM -> specific confguratio -> add CCMS under Monitor category SXMB_ADM->IE Configuration -> specific configuration -> new enteries -> monitoring category , choose CCMS Monitoring and set the initial value to 1. Step 2 : Activate qRFC, by scheduling the job in background , TCODE RZ21 image Step 3 : Creating a System Group for SAP Exchange Infrastructure image Step 4 : define the system group ExchangeInfrastructure_Systems to obtain monitoring information image Step 5 : Choose Maintain system groups from the Technical infrastructure menu and define the system group ExchangeInfrastructure_Systems image Step 6 : Maintain all systems of your XI landscape, If the local system in which you configure your monitor is part of this group, you can include it in the group by specifying its system ID. image Step 7 : Using TCODE: RZ20 create a CCMS monitoring set image Step 8 : Choose the standard CCMS templated provded for XI and copy the monitory set image image Step 9 : As you can see we have configured CCMS for the XI system defined in RZ21 image Summary In this blog i have shown only the procedure to configure CCMS Monitoring for XI as CCMS Alert monitoring is not part of XI , but is a part of SAP Web Application Server. In the following blogs i will detail out how to do GRMG Customizing for XI CCMS Heartbeat Monitoring and Configuring CCMS Alerts for the Adapter Engine.

    Hi Naveen,
I am wondering what you are talking about:
Step 1: add “CCMS” under “runtime category”.

In our system we don t have such an entry available. What we have is “monitoring” – “CCMS montoring” and “CCMS_APPLERROR_ALERT_AGE”.

    Best regards
    Dirk
