In case you missed the SAPPHIREs this year and or want to spend more time on watching the demo that Shai Agassi and Jeff Word showed on the keynote-stage, here is a recording of the Analytics dashboard, without presenters walking in the picture or sneezing attendees disturbing your concentration.

SAPPHIRE ’05 demo video (15MB) (to watch the video, you need to register)

This demo contains several things:

Visual Composer modelled dashboard
This Analytics dashboard was built without programming a single line of code. The Visual Composer is a model-driven IDE that allows to integrate seamlessly analytical and transactional data into one application.

BI Kit in Visual Composer
The BI Kit is a “plugin” into Visual Composer, which allows to access data from different sources, through connector types like XMLA, ODBO, SAP Query, JDBC and BW Web API. The BI Kit uses the BI Java SDK and the BW Web API to bring analytical data into the modelling environment and the applications generated out of those models.

SAP NetWeaver Portal
The Portal offers infrastructure to the VC and the applications, like authorization, roles, iView-technology etc.

High Performance Analytics
This accelerates the SAP NetWeaver BI with the integrated TREX-technology. The number of records that are used in the demo-video are 1 billion records(!) without aggregation, and the result comes back just in 1 second.

Macromedia Flex Integration
The integration of Macromedia Flex is the basis for a new form of user experience with business applications. Even our colleagues couldn’t believe their eyes, when they saw it the first time. And they normally are pretty hard-boiled…

Compelling UI
Ever seen such a “hot” UI in the SAP-environment? 😉

And that’s just the beginning. Stay tuned for more…
