How to deploy Laszlo project in WAS 6.4 j2ee engine- Part2

Introduction

This weblog is going to cover deployment of laszlo war file into WAS 6.4 j2ee. The instructions could be used for deployment of any war file into j2ee.

Step1

Create a war file from laszlo project. Follow the instruction from following screen shot.

Step2

Start the deployer tool from following location.

Step3

Follow the following screen shots to deploy the war file into j2ee engine

Create a deployment project

Select the Assembler tab and add your war file to the project

Select the Assembler tab and make a EAR file

Select the Deployer and Load your EAR file

Connect to your j2ee engine
image
Deploy your EAR file to J2EE engine

After sucessful deployment, you should get following dialog. Click on YES to start your application.

Step 4

Test your application by entering the following url.
http://ustportalsrvr:50000/sdnfeeds/reader.lzx

Step 5

Create a url iView in your portal to the following url to display your laszlo content.
http://ustportalsrvr:50000/sdnfeeds/reader.lzx?lzt=swf

      Hi Prakash,
      the Lazlo stuff seems very intersting. Thanks for this nice article. Can you tell what exactly do i need on my Laptop to run this stuff ? Eclipe 3.1 ? Open Laszlo Server ? J2EE ? Wich Plugin ? etc.etc.

      Is Laslo (it looks a little bit like Xaml) good enough to write Application (for example an Online Order System) ? I can't see where and how you write the validation logic etc.etc.
