SDN meets Labs is coming to Bangalore, India, on July 4! I’m excited, are you?

Venue

SDN meets Labs in India will be combined with the SAP NetWeaver Technology Tour ’05 event and will be hosted at the beautiful Leela Palace near the Bangalore International Airport (location map).

Agenda Overview

Shai Agassi will give the opening keynote address. The event will be a packed one-day affair with two parallel tracks: Integration (covering XI, EP, BI) and Development (covering NW Developer studio, Composite Application Framework, Visual Composer). There will also be several customer presentation and partner presentations on SAP NetWeaver implementation topics as well as Analytics. Look out for a detailed event agenda on SDN. It should be published in a day or two. There will be an SDN booth at the venue and I encourage you to stop by. An SDN meets Labs Dinner in the evening will close the event and should give the participants a superb opportunity to network and hobnob with the movers and shakers in the SAP eco-system.

How do you participate and what does it cost?

Participation is FREE and by invitation. We have the capacity to invite 75 SDN members from India. So register now for the event at SDN meets Labs Registration. In case, there are more takers than capacity, the contributors with more points get preference.

Kick-off Dinner on July 3

I am also planning to meet with many of our Indian community members for an evening dinner on July 3 (Sunday) to kick off the event at SAP Labs campus. I know that a Sunday evening might not be an ideal time to meet for many. But on the other hand, people attending the next day’s event from outside of Bangalore might only be able to join on the Sunday before the event. I am ready to change my plans and will consider hosting the dinner on July 1 (Friday) if that is what most of the community prefers. So please let your voice be heard in the “comment” section of this weblog as well as in the event registration form where you are asked about the July 3 dinner.

2 weeks to go!

With just about 10 working days to go before the event, I am anticipating a capacity SDN member turnout and hoping that many of you take this valuable opportunity to meet in person some of the best local talents in the SDN community. I will definitely be looking forward to meeting the many Indian names that I come across on SDN and put a face and a voice and a personality to them. Let us hear about your SDN experience and your take on how we can make our amazing community even better!

Don’t I wish I could attend, but since I don’t think it will be possible I do ask that you record any and all SDN sessions as well as encourage everyone to use flickr and the tag “sdnmeetslabs” tag for their picture posting!

    Good luck with the event!!

          1. I just found out that the registration form was not working properly. So anybody who might have registered since this weblog was published (or before 12:00 hours German time on June 21) might need to register again 🙁

            Sorry about that,
            Pranav

          Raja,

At my previous work, we worked with an ODC (Overseas Development Centre) in Bangalore. We were there to define working methods, etc. I have good memories on that.
I’m afraid that the university won’t pay for me going to Bangalore.

  4. I see a lot of community members voting for Friday dinner. I would request anybody who would prefer a Sunday dinner to please post a reply to this thread. I already know that Raja who will be coming from Trichy would prefer Sunday. Anyone else?

i prefer Sunday night, as its good for all who will come from outside b’glore. i thing all earlier replies were from localities of banglore only.

and what abt deadlines of registration and list of 75 contributors for the meet?

      regards,
      kamaljeet

      1. Hi Kamaljeet, Your feedback regarding Sunday dinner is appreciated. Let us see how many people share that concern.
I will announce the deadline for the registration process in a day or two.

    2. Hi Pranav, Kartik, Ravi et al.,

I must agree with Ravi that partying on a Sunday night would make us all tired for Monday morning. Moreover, the guys who travel from outside of Bangalore are anyways going to be a little tired from their journey.

So we could all meet on Sunday evening and have some quiet and peaceful time, without too much hopping-in-the-pub.

But if there are enough takers, then we can meet on Friday as well. Was it Kartik who was talking about some “decent pubs” in Bangalore ? And if necessary, we can go dutch on this one.

Oops! Did my “comment” get as long as the weblog itself 🙂 ?

      What do you say ?

      Regards,
      Anand Mandalika.

      1. Hi Anand, I pretty much agree with what you suggested. I will post a weblog with the final plan soon. Thanks for everyone’s active participation with the comment section of this weblog. Just shows how live and kicking our Indian SDN community is!
        Cheers, Pranav

One more suggestion guys. Why don’t we think of monday evening also as a possible alternative after the SDN meet?.I am sure that majority of  the members will be there on Mon eve or may start late night only.so we won’t miss any body .

Pranav, when are you sending us the invitations for the same to attend.

      Regards,
      Guru

    Hi,

Registered once at the given link in the weblog(too bad it doesn’t work with Firefox), next day saw a message link not working. Registered again. Today morning saw a message at the main page of SDN, an email address and a toll free number. Called up and also sent an email and registered again.

    Regards,
    Subramanian V.

    1. Hi Subramanian, The event is locally organized jointly with SAP India which has a standard registration process with an email and toll free number. SDN meets Labs sessions are exclusive for SDN members and hence there was a separate registration process run on SDN. Anyone who has registered through the registration link in my weblog does not need to register again with the email and toll free number.
I see the cause of confusion. But I hope things are clear now. Pranav
