              SAP NetWeaver Developer InfoDays

(DID)This time as we have greatly extended the scope, it is planned to have at least 7

concurrent parallel tracks based on the IT Practice themes. You can find out

more about the IT Practice themes at the ASUG event itself! 🙂

The sessions will be a mixture of lectures, demos, and detailed Q&As. To
maximize the interactivity and benefit for each participant, the sessions will
be relatively unstructured and limited to small groups. This will enable the
participant to influence each session and gain as much value from this event as
possible. Over the 1 ½ days each track will have at least 11 hours of SAP
NetWeaver Developer, Product Management, and Product Definition face time!

So now we know what you DID after ASUG 2005?

I just attended the Developer Info Days track on KM and Collaboration. It was fantastic! Hearing from the developers on how to leverage the delivered KMC features and how to create custom views and services was extremely valuable. To quote another customer who attended, "I just exhausted after attending the ASUG conference, but now I'm energized to get back home and try out the new skills I learned." I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately, there was sparse attendance due to the late communication that many received. I am afraid that since many who would have benefited from these sessions could not change their travel plans with such short notice, that SAP will view the low turnout as a failure. However, everyone I talked to after the sessions was very impressed with the information they received and felt it was money and time well invested.

My thanks to the developers and product managers who presented and helped with the sessions. Please continue to offer these workshops, and I will do everything I can to encourage everyone I know to look for them and sign up.

      Hi Glen,

Thanks for your gracous feedback, it was much appreciated by the PM and developer teams. We had hope the attendees would like the different approach of smaller, more interactive sessions. The developers I spoke to said that they also enjoyed the interactive small sessions.

We are aware that the attendence was low due to the fixed travel plans for ASUG and the lateness of the announcement from the event.

We have future DIDs on the future to-do list. As soon as they are planned we'll post more blogs on SDN.

      All the best,
      Mike

I also attended Developer Info Day after ASUG in Anhaheim and it was great!

This is more the small breakout sessions with developers that were available at the BW and Portal Conferences ran by SAP before (rather then the more recent incarnation run by WIS Publications) in San Francisco in early 2000, Hamburg in Dec 2000, and Leipzig in Jan 2002!
Would love to have more of these type of Developers Info Day on a regualar basis (maybe once a year?)

Thanks to Lori and her team for organizing it!

      Cheers, Mary
