SDN – Cause and Effect
As we draw to the end of the first day of SDN Meets Labs, I get that familiar conference feeling of having “drunk my fill” from the fire hydrant of information, that good conferences are. In particular, the session that struck a cord with me the most was “Web Dynpro ABAP” by Dirk Feeken (thanks Dirk). I can really see a maturity creeping into that technology, With it opening up different ways for businesses to “cook” their own web applications – with or without EP, and with or with out J2EE.
On the SDN side of things, I got to talking with Craig Cmehil , and he made a striking observation of how, when an SDN blogger writes an informed entry on a current hot-topic of discussion, instead of the activity going up on that subject, it goes down. This lead me to the thought that we (SDN collectively) could even more effectively resolve the larger topics of concern, by having a mechanism for accurately keeping a finger on the pulse of discussion/discussion topics. This knowledge could then be applied to developing a system of “targeted” posts to demystify any given topic at hand. Just a thought…
