3X SDN Meets Labs
I have arrived in Walldorf, actually sitting in a very dark SSC building (not the one in the picture and they call it differently now too) and Jet-lag is catching up with me. So here some more info. Reminder tonight Monday 18th 19:00 (7 pm) o’clock unofficial SDN Meets Labs Kick Off at the Marktstube in Walldorf (Hauptstrasse 20).
Craig wrote in one of his posts that the SDN Meets Labs in Walldorf should be at least as good as Palo Alto.
Well there are 300 SDNers coming together in Walldorf/Rot versus 100 in Palo Alto. Therefore from the quantity the event should be at least 3X as big.
Bring your digital camera, after the event there should be three times as many pictures tagged with sdnmeetslabs on Flickr.
Three times as many people should show up at the Marktstube tonight for the unofficial kick off. I called them to make sure that they are open and don’t have a big event themselves. We have a green light from them. I told them that there will be between 30 and 50 people, they said that 20 people is a big difference and whether I could give them a better estimate. If you are going, can you please post your name here. That would help. See you there.
Keep an eye on the Weblogs, more updates to come soon.
Your link to indicate that one is coming failed (for me at least). You can reserve for me a seat and a beer!
hope you find some sleep. Unfortenately the "Post your name" link does not work. This is the error message:

The given campaign does not exist.
So I post my name here: Gregor and Meinrad will come to Markstube. But we will arrive I think between 8 or 9 p.m.
Looking forward seeing you.
There is a bus every hour or so from Frankfort Airport to Heidelberg, and then you still need another 25Km to Rot. Can consider cab then. Look for Lufthansa Airport shuttle.
If quick if your requirement, I would suggest that you book a transfer service. They pick you up at the airport and drop you off, either Walldorf or Rot. Costs are totally acceptable. (About twice that of bus.)
The most flexible is of course the train. From the airport take a train to Heidelberg main station ("Hbf" is the abbreviation you want). Then take a train from Heidelberg to Rot. From Rot station take cab or walk about 15 minutes by foot.
If you send me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org), I can lookup numbers of some transfer services for you.
Keep in mind that you might require up to an hour to clear passport check and customs in Frankfurt, depending on how busy they are.
Note that this is one way, my family is probably coming wednesday evening.
See you laster, Mark.
See you tomorrow!
Unfortunately the Webcating fell through 🙁
But we are taping all sessions and will make them available as soon as we can.
See you soon, Mark.
