A New home for Snippets

We have all come across those times when we remember doing something or seeing something and we think “Man I could use that snippet again, but where is it?”. Well for those of you, like me, who have said that O’Reilly have come up with a nice place for some of those Java pieces.

O’Reilly CodeZoo

CodeZoo exists to help you find high-quality, freely available, reusable components, getting you past the repetitive parts of coding, and onto the rest and the best of your projects. It’s a fast-forward button for your compiler.
Learn More

This just makes life a whole lot easier for all of us dealing with Java, O’Reilly tends to be able to back there projects pretty well and I think this one might manage to take off and stay strong for quite awhile. This of course giving each of us a central place to find components and pieces to help make our applications run better, although with NetWeaver you are already on top right?

On the homepage there, there is a link to “learn more” about what CodeZoo is and I have to say I love the intro

CodeZoo is a site for any developer who wants to avoid writing code. We believe the best code is the code you don’t have to write — the pieces already done for you, as well or better as you would do them yourself.

So let’s all be lazier and live up to this statement OK?

Oh and not to leave out some other nice favorites though:

Like the name 🙂 But the granularity (of the few entries I looked at) seems very large. One need such a database for 10-50 lines code sequences as well. One day we should recommend this idea for SDN well!
