SAP Knowledge management uses crawlers to collect resources located in internal and external repositories. With the release of SAP NetWeaver'04 SPS04, crawler profiles and crawler types no longer exist. Crawler parameters are now used to control the behavior of crawlers.
In addition, you now use resouce filters to control the scope or result of a crawling process. This is done by defining the different parameters for both scope and result filters.
The crawler monitor has been greatly improved as well.
