This being my first Weblog wanted to talk about how Tech Ed helps enable me to set strategy for what might be good to bring into Great Lakes Chemical Company.

The first step is to make sure you have adequate coverage at the conference. This year including myself I have 3 people from my team. There are also two others from our BW and Info Delivery group attending.

Myself I have covered: SAP NetWeaver as a Platform for Debugging ABAP and Java applications Adaptive Computing
Introduction to Web Dynpro for ABAP
Creating interactive forms in Web Dynpro for Java
Enterprise JavaBeans in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio
Utilizing Web Services with Java and SAP Web Application Server 6.40

What we will do after the conf is come together and discuss each of the sessions/classes/Jam sessions, etc we have seen.

From this then we will develop a strategy of what will benefit our company and how to start to deploy these out.

One Item I can say for certain we will be deploying will be Interactive forms using Adobe. My team and myself were quite impressed.

  1. Hi David,

I am so happy to hear you brought four people to TechEd this year. I don’t know how attendees manage to go from 8 am to 6:15 pm for all those days – there is so much information to absorb.
One thing I have to say though as the product manager for the SAP Enterprise Portal: You completely missed the great SAP Enterprise Portal, Knowledge Management and Collaboration sessions this year!
But there is always hope for next year, or better yet, come to the ASUG Technology Forum in Dallas at the beginning of November (infos under http://www.asug.com/2004techforum/) – I’ll be waiting for your team’s questions ๐Ÿ™‚
    Elke
