World 184 : SAP 193
If SAP TechEd were next week, we would already know the Top Contributors and what prizes they got. Let’s pretend we reached the deadline: 12:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time Saturday, 25 September 2004 already.
First of all, everyone over 500 points would get a $20 Amazon gift certificate. Right now that is everyone rank 7 and above. Sorry Gregor Wolf, close but no cigar. Similarly Stefan Klensch is close to the additional $30 gift certificate once he crosses the 1000 point mark.
Second, the first 10 SAP employees as well as the top 10 SDN Members not working for little blue will get the mini iPod, MP4 Video Jukebox, HP Wifi iPAQ/Phone combination or MP3 memory stick combination shown to the left. In good old SAP fashion, there is no direct link to this item on the SAP Shop, or I couldn’t find it. Probably so you’ll search some more and stumble over other things that you would like to buy too.
The minimum points you currently need to win one of our cool geeky prizes are: As an SAP Employee: 193. Rest of the SDN world: 184. It is funny that it is so close. I predict, that by the end of this competition it will be reversed.
If you look, you will realize that Jan Wentzel with 193 is SAP contributor number 11 and not 10. The reason is that smack in the middle of the SAP folks, there is yours truly. Although I would love to have any of these gadgets, as a member of the SDN Team we take ourselves out of the competition. Just for sport I still like to be somewhere in the top 10 π
Think about it, not even 200 points and you get a nice prize. That’s just two articles or code samples or five easy Weblogs. You may want to check the /community [original link is broken] forum. If you find a request there that you can fulfill, double points for your article or code sample. That alone would lift you into the prize category. Good luck!

Scott
It got booked on your old P-number, I moved the points which moved you up to the spot number 2.
There are some more points coming for Yesterday's Weblog too.
Sorry, Mark.
Anyway congratulation for the top contributor!
Thanks for the information.
Best Regards,
