lang=”EN-US” style=”font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: Arial”>Dear Web Dynpro  Community,

lang=”EN-US” style=”font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: Arial”>You may already  be fairly familiar with the concept of Web Dynpro. You may also have already  created Web Dynpro applications and executed them on the Web AS. However, you  may be interested in very specific topics and would like to extend your previous  knowledge of UI programming on a Web Dynpro basis.

lang=”EN-US” style=”font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: Arial”>Some of the  possible questions that you would like answered could be:

lang=”EN-US” style=”font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: Arial”>- When and how  do I use a custom controller?

lang=”EN-US” style=”font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: Arial”>- How do I  program a recursive tree that can be reloaded on demand?

lang=”EN-US” style=”font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: Arial”>- How do I  implement a sort function in a table view control?

lang=”EN-US” style=”font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: Arial”>- How can I  dynamically program UI elements of a view or its context structure?

lang=”EN-US” style=”font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: Arial”>- What must I  do to call BAPIs in Web Dynpro?

lang=”EN-US” style=”font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: Arial”>- How do I  integrate my Web Dynpro application in a Portal iView?

lang=”EN-US” style=”font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: Arial”>Regardless of  whether you are a Web Dynpro beginner or consider yourself an expert, you will  find the material offered under Samples and Tutorials very useful. The  numerous tutorials and executable sample applications on offer make up an  extensive set of learning material that can be used to create your own  individual learning map.

lang=”EN-US” style=”font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: Arial”>Each tutorial  is a complete lesson that introduces you to the relevant topic step by step.  Wherever possible, a project template is provided that is intended as a starting  point for the tutorial. The advantage of this is that certain aspects can be  hidden and you can then focus your interest on a specific topic. The resulting  projects can also be downloaded in zipped format.

lang=”EN-US” style=”font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: Arial”>For overview  purposes, the information resources have been put together in a Feature-to-Samples Matrix and assigned a level of complexity (Beginner,  Intermediate, or Expert). Each feature is assigned a row in the matrix and  grouped into different areas like Programming Model, UI Elements, Backend  Access, Generic Services and Enterprise Portal. All sample applications covering  a specific feature are identified by a number. The first line of the Feature  Matrix contains links that take you to the relevant download area, where you can  obtain tutorials, project zip files, and other information resources. We cannot  currently cover all topics of interest. Some examples are still in development  and will be made available in this matrix in the SDN as soon as they are ready.

lang=”EN-US” style=”font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: Arial”>To use these  resources you require SAP Web AS 640 for Java. In most cases it will be  sufficient if you have installed the Sneak Preview Edition available from the  SDN. In any cases where there are additional requirements, these have been  stated explicitly. In addition, it is also a prerequisite – of course – that you  are familiar with Java and the concepts of object orientation.

lang=”EN-US” style=”font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: Arial”>We hope you  enjoy working with this material!

    This is a great reference, thanks. It would be great if the matrix was updated so that fields link to the tutorial instead of having to go back to the headings. Another nice addition would be using the title attribute on the links to include the name of the tutorial.
