Many thanks to customers and developers involved in verifying the e-mail notifications for workflow. It wasn't so much the feedback about the code that we were interested in (hey, only the crème de la crème worked on this). What we were concerned about was the social effect it had on the users.
The feedback was overwhelming:
Minimilistic total cost of ownership (no client installation necessary)
Very easy to use so it is readily accepted by the users
Absolutely non-disruptive to other mechanisms in place and no modifications to existing code either.
So you can import this into existing systems to enable enhanced workflow notifications with executable attachments (e.g display or execute a work item) directly in your e-mail client. This complements the Universal Worklist iView, which is also included in SAP NetWeaver - perfectly.
