When SAP NetWeaver started to evolve, it merely was a heap of different products. And as the heap was so big, it was not easy for a newbie to find out where to start. In such cases what you perhaps would do is start reading manuals. That's confusing enough, because for NetWeaver there are a lot of those.
Quickly it became clear that a programmer who started into NetWeaver would have a major problem just getting around in the wealth of information provided and therefore the manuals would often be useless. We needed a new kind of Guidance, a guide through the manuals, informative and problem-driven at the same time. A project was set up and production began.
What you see today is the first throw in a very short time frame. We are already working on the second edition that should be finished when SAP NetWeaver 04 is released for general availability. Nevertheless, it's very helpful for guiding you through the new world of NetWeaver technology.
