One of the people in my group of favorite customers (because they deploy the SAP Enterprise Portal, of course) is Paul Kurchina from TransAlta.

(Note to Paul: Sorry, I have to be politically correct in this forum! Of course, you are THE favorite customer – just don’t tell anyone else ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Paul, as many of you know, is the group chair of the ASUG Portals group.

One key trademark of Paul is his persistence in asking me to send him locations where he (and other ASUG members) can find more in-depth and better information on the SAP Enterprise Portal with its built-in knowledge management and collaboration features.

If you were to go to Service Marketplace today, you would see that some of the SAP Enterprise Portal information has shifted its location and moved under SAP NetWeaver (alias /netweaver). This, of course, makes a lot of sense as the SAP Enterprise Portal is a key ingredient of SAP NetWeaver. is the new alias, which will quickly and comfortably catapult you to the Service Marketplace area. Once there, under Media Library is where you will find the things you will most likely be interested in such as feature lists and the latest presentations.

But, this is not really new, you will say, just moved. Well, the reason I am leading you to the /nw-ep alias is because I want you to also jump into the News & Events folder and then on to Events. Here you will find the link for the SAP Enterprise Portal customer calls.

In this folder, you will find the presentations, which were held so far since the inception of this bi-weekly call, plus MP3 files with the audio recordings. More importantly though, there is a link at the top of the page for you to sign up and be notified a few days in advance of the current topic and dial-in information. We hope you will take advantage of this as we have had some fantastic topics in the past – not always just SAP Enterprise Portal, but also some cross-SAP NetWeaver or further interest topics.

Our last call featured two of our customers, Wrigley and Nike, who were sharing about their SAP Enterprise Portal implementations (with WebEx recording!). Next week, we will have Evan Stoddard, an SAP colleague, join us to talk about Solution Manager.

So come one, come all, join us for the call and WebEx – it happens every other Thursday at 11 AM EST / 8 AM PST. It doesn’t cost a penny, which is even better! Please tell your colleagues about these calls. And if you live in a time zone where you are sleeping while these calls are taking place, you can always catch them a few days later at your own pace.

We would be pleased to entertain the topics you care about – this call has generated interest in our own organization, and we have tried to host people who can give you interesting glimpses into our technology and solutions. We are also very interested in having you, our customers, present on the exciting things you have done with our SAP Enterprise Portal software and other SAP solutions, so please let us know if you would like to present.

I look forward to welcoming you on one of our next calls.

P.S. While you are on the Events page, check out the presentations from the Know How call series, a bi-weekly call hosted by our SAP NetWeaver RIG (Regional Implementation Group), which is more technical in flavor.

It’s funny — our EP team has rapidly been expanding and one of the constant frustrations with people that are new to SAP is how hard it is to find good information. Thanks for starting the trend in the opposite direction.

I’ve already seen the customer Calls page and found some interesting information there…

When will these calls be available in Europe also? Or am I allowed to participate in the North America ones ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Hi Michael,

You are more than welcome to participate. The calls are somewhat conveniently scheduled for the Western European end of business day ๐Ÿ™‚
So please join – there is no regional restriction for participation. The call simply got started in the Americas’ region and was originally targeted at US customers.
But the more, the merrier, so please join!
