Hi all,
Running BW on Netweaver 7.5 across 2 app servers - system is normally very stable but just recently it became necessary to migrate to a new domain. Following that work and the subsequent restart we've found that one of the app servers is 'missing' a number of work processes.
Both app servers have profiles stating that there should be 47 processes available split across dialog & batch etc as usual but one of the app servers only makes 16 of these available which then leads to performance issues during overnight runs. The other app server is unaffected.
We've tried reloading the profile and restarting the server and then all 47 reappear but by the next day it's back to the same 16 as before.
At a loss as to whether this is causing our issues or is a symptom of some other cause but open to any advice if anyone has come across this before.
Andrew
Did you checked the operation modes configuration (t-code RZ04)?
Also, please check if there are reports of memory (RAM) stress during the night. If no memory was available, could lead to work processes crashes. If it's the case, then there will be records on System Logs (SM21) and dumps (ST22).
