Sap Public Cloud Product Hierarchy in Margin Analysis

Good evening,

I’ve a question about Sales Product Hierarchy (SAP Public cloud), i proceeded to perform the setting steps:

• Configure Nodes for Product Hierarchies
• Create new Hierarchy
• Manage Product Hierarchy assignment
• Define Relevant Date for product hierarchy determination (we did’nt perform this step which seems to be optional)

i see Product hierarchy information on material master data by app Manage Product Master data and the information is also available on Sales B view of sales order.

When I run for example Product and Services Margin report, i can see product hierarchy level in this way--> select product and open the hierarchy dropdown list.

My doubt  concerns the available field among those in addition to the product that instead appears to be not assigned.

Is this field being used for a different purpose?

From what I understand you can convert the various product hierarchy nodes to attributes but I cannot understand the functionality of the product hierarchy field already available at the reporting level.

There are also no example on how to convert Hierarchy to Attribute by CDS custom view….
