When I started writing this blog I was thinking about the Ch-Ch-Changes that SAP Services is going through (for the better) as we move to SCN. So I invited good friend David Bowie to help me celebrate.

SAP Virtualization Week 2012 was held in the SAP Palo Alto Office from the 17th to the 19th of April. Being my first SAP Virtualization Week I really didn’t know what to expect. The event sold out and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it had a great community feel of like minded individuals. Based on the acceleration in the collection of new data flowing in through enterprises extending into mobile, cloud and social networks, during the past few years, big-data has become a leading topic in the IT industry. To put this into context, in 2011 1,200 exabytes of data were created… 8x the amount just in 2005! And this trend only continues with global digital content doubling every 18 months. (more…)

The market is characterized by few big players operating as suppliers, in addition to smaller companies specializing in one specific segment.
