Single Statement May 05, 2011 by Jonathan Becher In his 1963 Lectures on Physics, Richard Feynman famously asked: If, in some cataclysm, all of scientific knowledge were to be destroyed, and only one sentence passed on to the next generations of creatures, what statement would contain the most information in the fewest words? Dr. Feynman answered his own question based on atomic theory. Inspired by Feynman, Seed Magazine posed the following question to some of the world’s leading scientists: Imagine that in a mission to change everyone’s thinking about the world, you can take only one lesson from your field as a guide.   I'm fascinated by the concept of aligning execution and strategy; in other words – making sure what we actually do matches what we say we will do. It might sound obvious but finding ways to close the gap between the two makes a great subject for a blog and I’ve been writing about it for years. Even as CMO of SAP, I do my best to literally “manage by walking around” but since SAP is a global company it might be more aptly called manage by flying around.
