#SAPChat – Transcript and Thanks

Last week I took part in my first Live #SAPChat and I had a great time – it was a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed the direct interaction and would like to thank those who took part and the lurkers who observed. A BIG thank you also goes to the entire team (SAP Marketing & Global Communications) for making it happen – proof that collaboration leads to fantastic things.

I love numbers so here are a couple relating to the #SAPChat.  We covered 36 topics in 60 minutes and spoke about many SAP Runs SAP topics, for example how we are implementing our own mobile strategy and how we are using SAP HANA solutions internally

Forbes.com SAP CIO: iCloud and DropBox Not Secure Enough, We’ll Build Our Own

Users love cloud storage services like DropBox and iCloud for their power and ease of use. IT managers hate them for the ginormous potential for data leakage and loss they create. But clamping down on them isn’t so straightforward.

At the SAPPHIRE conference in Madrid last week, SAP CIO Oliver Bussmann gave a talk to fellow CIOs about how SAP is using its subsidiary Sybase’s Afaria MDM software to secure the 11,000 iPads used by its employees.

An innovative topic calls for innovative conversation. Fittingly, a discussion about SAP’s mobile solutions should take advantage of Twitter, one of the most popular forms of social media on mobile devices.

On November 15, please join me from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. CET for a special “tweetchat.” During this hour, I’ll be on Twitter answering questions about the mobility solutions demonstrated during SAPPHIRE NOW in Madrid (November 9 and 10). The tweetchat will be hosted by SAP’s social media marketing team.

With these solutions and in-memory technology, organizations can access information instantly with mobile devices. We certainly do at SAP. As part of the chat, I’ll share how SAP is putting our own technology to good use, by running our solutions on mobile devices.  SAP Global IT  (SAP Runs SAP) has a packed agenda at SAPPHIRE NOW and SAP TechEd Madrid 2011, do you have any questions, thoughts you would like to share during the tweetchat?
