Most of our manufacturing customers already use some of SAP’s analytics solutions, such as SAP BusinessObjects Dashbords or SAP Crystal Reports, quite intensively. While these tools are great for understanding what has happened in the past in your business, or for checking what is going on right now, relying on just this information to move forward is like driving a car by only looking into the rear-view mirror. How Many Connections Away Are You from “Your Network of Truth”?

What does “Network of Truth”, or “Moment of Truth” mean for you in your industry? Are they the same? In 1987, Jan Carlzon, the CEO of Scandinavian Airlines  wrote in his book “Moments of Truth” that there are 50,000 moments of truth in his company, every day.  These are the first 15 seconds of engagement between the passenger and the front-line employees in an airline. By shifting the focus on serving the customer, he returned the airline to profitability in one year and SAS was voted Air Transports World’s “Best Airline of the Year” shortly after.
