Introduction


This blog covers the latest features in SAP Analytics Cloud which is Save an Insight in Data Analyzer release 2021.01

Data Analyzer


The Data Analyzer in SAP Analytics Cloud provides ad hoc query analysis for SAP BW query. It uses SAP BW live connections created in SAP Analytics Cloud. All SAP BW queries can be accessed directly in the select Data Source dialog.


The data analyzer contains a table with all dimensions and measures, in the data analyzer page you will find a filter area, and a builder panel with navigation capabilities to add and remove dimensions and measures from the table, as well as a menu bar with a refresh and an Edit Prompts dialog if you designed you data source for setting prompts





 

 In addition, with this new feature, you  (Admin, BI Admin, and BI Content Creators)  are able now to save an "Insights" withing the data analyzer



Save an Insight in Data Analyzer



 Saved insights can contain data source information such as:




  • Selected variable prompts

  • Filters

  • Text presentations (ID / Description)

  • Drill-down levels in hierarchies



Insights you save are displayed in SAP Analytics Cloud folders. After you have saved an insight, you can launch it, make all the necessary changes and save it as a new Insight.

When you open the saved insight, you will have the ability

  • View

  • List

  • Rename

  • Overwrite

  • Delete

  • and Share



To share your insight with your colleagues, you just have to check the insight saved and click share, (after choosing the user's name / Teams, as well as the type of Access )
